My fingers are crossed that finally, finally, we'll see Jacob Lusk and his over the top, hopping, screaming, and crying "performances" shut down with his elimination tonight on American Idol.
Considering Jacob has escaped the chopping block for the past several weeks I won't be floored if Lauren or Haley goes instead of Jacob, but geez.
I'll be waiting on pins and needles for the Top 5 elimination results.

American Idol Top 5 to Sing Old and New Songs
This week's performance will be a great mix of something old and something new! The American Idol 2011 singers will get to do a song from the 1960s and then they'll also do another song from modern times.
Hopefully "modern times" means something good like the past few years and not "since the dawn of time" considering it's all relative. I'm guessing James is going to be rocking out something awesome.

American Idol 2011 Top 6 Will Perform Duets
The American Idol 2011 Top 6 singers will have to do a little extra work this week to fill the 90 minutes of airtime. Idol has revealed that they'll each be paired up and perform duets during the Wednesday night show.

Any picks for who you want to duet?

American Idol Season 10 Eliminates Stefano Langone
So poor Stefano was finally sent home this past week on American Idol. I was glad to see an end to his run of "style over substance." He certainly came across as an earnest and nice guy, but he was in way over his head. Not bad though to make it this far after being voted out by America and then a save as a Judges Wildcard.

Next week probably won't be much of a surprise either. Haley and Jacob will end up in the Bottom 3 along with another Hopeful and then we'll see Jacob hit the road. Fingers crossed here on that one.

American Idol Won't Change Voting System
After a few "shocking" eliminations this season on American Idol there was discussion that maybe it was time for a change in the way contestants are eliminated.
Thankfully the producers have come out in defense of the existing system. Kinda. Producers say they won't be changing anything this season, but we might see a reduction of votes for text and phone voting methods.
While I think that's a great idea I don't think they'll do it. American Idol producers love when they can come out and say "we got 55 million votes last night!" If they limit those votes then it'll hurt those big numbers which translates to ego boosts for them.
Maybe American Idol will figure out an improvement next season.

American Idol 2011 Eliminations Continue To Top 6
If it wasn't bad enough to have lost Pia Toscano we had to then watch as Paul McDonald was voted off the American Idol 2011 stage last week.

Tonight we'll see who follows Paul and Pia and who is left to make up the American Idol Top 6 for this season. Can't wait to see!
